July 29 2017 – Phoenix, AZ Indoor Swap Meet

Directions:
Northwest corner of 15th Avenue and Maryland Avenue. Drive around the rear of the buildings the Swap Meet will be held in the Burns Hall.

Details:
This will be an indoor swap meet! Swap meet starts at 8am until 12pm. Members can start setting up at 7:30am. Everyone is welcome. We will have donuts and coffee available ..

Fees: None. Although you do need to be a current paid AZARC member to sell items at our swap meets. Not a member? No problem, You can join at the swap meet. There may be special events at our swap meets that will require a purchase to participate.

Donation Auction:  No donation at this swap meet however we will have a RESERVE auction of a few special items, so come prepared.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

Free Give Away to the first 50 members: A “Lifetime” member and former Officer of our Club. Mr. Art Fisher, age 95 has overwhelmed us with his generosity by donating all his test equipment, tube testers, radio parts, metal parts cabinets, books, and general radio related items.  We removed all of the donation from his home, to a nearby storage facility.

Art’s daughter packed everything in banana boxes, over a 100 total.

The AZARC Board was in full agreement, to adhere to Mr. Fishers wishes that his “stuff” should benefit all of our members.  So, we will have a AZARC first, “ART’S GIFT GIVE-AWAY”.  Every dues paid member in attendance upon signing in on the morning of July 29th, will be gifted one banana box (contents unknown), and one parts cabinet (contents unknown).

Here’s how we will proceed:

The Club will place 50 banana boxes and 50 parts cabinets on tables lining the walls, on both sides, of our Swap Meet indoor, air conditioned huge room.  They will be numbered 1 thru 50.  When you register, you’ll place a ticket with your name written on it and place in a jar.  At exactly 9 AM we will start drawing the names, 1 thru 50, and the first person will receive box and cabinet 1, second person #2 until we have drawn all the names.  CAVEAT: We can only handle 50 boxes and 50 cabinets, so we can only provide 50 members with the GIVE-AWAY. IF YOU SLEEP IN, YOU LOSE!

PLEASE don’t touch or try to open any of the boxes or cabinets until all the names have been called and we give you further instructions. Everyone will open there boxes/cabinets at the same time.

In order to be one of the 50 people awarded you must pledge that you will be responsible for your box and cabinet. You can sell, Give away, or trade the contents. They are yours do do with as you wish. All we ask is that you to honor your pledge and not leave anything behind or place any unwanted items in the Church dumpster.

Raffle: We are going to have a raffle again at this swap meet. By making a $5.00 donation to the club you will receive 10 raffle tickets to increase your chance of winning!

Lunch: AZARC will provide Domino’s pizza for every paid member at 11am.

Dues: Members your 2017 club dues are now due. To renew at the Swap Meet see Roger Godlevsky. You can also fill out the membership form on our website and choose renewal and send a check to the P.O. Box below:
