AZARC announces the next Swap Meet.
We will have another “Great Give-a-Way” Swap Meet on Saturday, May 26th at

1500 West Maryland Ave Phoenix, AZ 85015

Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church

The Board wishes to share with all dues paid Members, the Clubs “Good Fortune”.
We were contacted by a non-member who offered our Club his entire collection.
This collection was started in 1974 in Rhode Island and has been moved all over
the U.S. settling in Hereford, AZ (look it up!).  Our donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, specialized in Atwater Kent radios, speakers, literature etc. In this gentleman’s house we counted 120 radios, speakers, memorabilia that are about 80% Atwater Kent items. These items were displayed
with great care and pride.  In this collection there are AK breadboards, every AK speaker minus one!,plus items such as a AK lamp with shade and much much more.
In the 4 car garage this gentleman had approximately another 100+ items, again, mostly Atwater Kent items. On the 26th of May, we will have the “Great Give-a-Way”, giving our dues paid Members mainly the items from the garage.

The Club has all of the collection in a secure storage compound and we will be putting
together approximately 60 “lots” that our 56 dues paid Members will register for a drawing until each has a “lot” that the Member can keep, sell, trade with caveat pledge that all parts of the lot must leave the property by the end of the Meet.
We will have a donation auction, so, we ask every member to bring a
item or more, that you don’t need anymore that will make a Member happy for a modest cost.
We will have a raffle of 5 items from the donated collection. The raffle will be 10 tickets for $5.00.
Because of our Members generosity in the past, the Board has decided to provide lunch to all paid Members.
We have not set the lunch menu as of this posting but the suggestions so far have been subs or pizza, both are easy to get to the meet about 11 AM. Of course, donuts, coffee, soft drinks and water will be available.
Remember, the only people eligible for the “Give-a-Way” must be a paid dues Member as of April 1st, 2018.
Also, we can only provide lunch for Members.  Lastly, no change, the donation auction will have a bid paddle that will cost $2.00 and you must be a dues paid Member to get a paddle.
And, lest we forget, this is a Swap Meet so we need sellers and buyers.  This will be a Big Event so sellers should have a nice crowd to move  items that need to be owned by someone else.
The Board is in the planning stages of attempting the Clubs very first auction only event in mid July.  We hope to offer 100 items from the donated collection. With the success of this event, the Clubs finances will allow us to provide lunch at every event for many years to come!  We will bring a “smattering” of items that will be in the
auction to out swap meet on May 26 for your review.

Ask any Board Member questions regarding our activities as we need you input.
